Public submissions on a public board
GuideUpdated
On this page
A public board can collect requests from its readers: feedback on a website, bug reports, or ideas for a roadmap. Kanroo’s own community roadmap works this way. Requests arrive as tasks that only your team sees. An editor decides which ones appear on the public board.
You need:
- a public board, and
- an active form on that board, marked as the primary form.
What visitors see
- View only (box 1) tells visitors that they cannot change the board.
- Copy link (box 2) copies the address of the current view.
- Submit request (box 3) opens the primary form.
The form
- The note (box 1) says that a request may appear on the public board after review.
- The visitor enters a Title (box 2) and a Description (box 3).
- Labels (box 4) are optional and offer only the labels you allowed.
- Attachments (box 5) take screenshots or other files.
- Submit request (box 6) asks for a six-digit email code first, then creates the task.
Review and publish
On your board, the card of a new request (box 1) shows two small icons: the amber globe with a lock means Not published, and the clipboard means Created from a form. The public board does not show the task yet.
- Open the task. Source (box 2) names the sender, their email address, the form, and the time.
- Edit the title or the description if needed, add labels, or move it to the right list.
- Choose Publish (box 1). The task now appears on the public board, with its attachments.
To keep a request internal, simply do not publish it. Spam stays off your public board this way.
Good to know
- After publishing, the sender can no longer add files to the request.
- Nobody gets a notification for a new request. Check the target list regularly, or assign someone to triage it.
- Changing the board from Restricted to Public does not publish older form tasks.
