What you can put in a wiki page

GuideUpdated

On this page

A wiki page is formatted text that Kanroo stores as Markdown. You never need to type Markdown: the toolbar and the / menu insert everything. If you like Markdown, type it, and the editor turns it into formatting as you write.

The toolbar

The toolbar of the Project brief page
  1. Text style (box 1): paragraph or heading 1 to 4.
  2. Bold, italic, strike, highlight, and inline code (box 2). Select text first. The link button next to them adds a web link.
  3. Lists, quotes, and callouts (box 3): bullet list, numbered list, task list with checkboxes, quote, and callout. A callout is a colored note box: Note, Tip, Warning, or Danger.
  4. Insert (box 4):
    • Table. In a table, Tab moves to the next cell. The handles on the edges add and delete rows and columns.
    • Diagram (Mermaid) inserts a flowchart to start from. See Draw diagrams with Mermaid.
    • Horizontal rule, a divider line.
    • Link page and Link task insert a link that always shows the current title. Readers without access see “No access” instead.
    • Link attachment links a file of the page.
    • Image places a picture from the page attachments, with a caption and left, center, or right position.

The slash menu

Type / on an empty line

Type / at the start of an empty line (box 1). Keep typing to filter the list, for example /tab for a table, and press Enter. The menu has every block type: headings, lists, quote, callouts, code block, diagram, divider, table, image, and the links.

More you can do

  • Mention a person with @. They get a notification about the page.
  • Code blocks with a language such as ts or python get syntax highlighting.
  • Paste Markdown from another tool, such as a README, and it keeps its formatting. A toast offers “Paste as plain text” if you want the raw text.
  • Undo with Ctrl/⌘+Z.

Not supported

Columns, toggles, formulas, embeds from other sites, and text that flows around an image. The Markdown reference lists the other limits, including the page length: Not supported.

Task descriptions use the same editor with a smaller set: no task lists, no H4, no images, and no diagrams. Images in tasks are attachments.
