Two ways to run Kanroo Enterprise

The product is the same. You choose who runs the servers.

What Enterprise includes

Everything in the open-source core, plus the features of the Enterprise Edition. Kanroo Cloud includes them on every plan.

Everything in Kanroo Core

Boards and their views, the wiki, forms, public boards, imports, exports, search, the API and the MCP server.

  • Live updates and presence

    Boards, tasks and pages update while you look at them. You see who has the same place open.

  • Single sign-on (SSO)

    Members sign in through your identity provider with OpenID Connect. Guides cover Microsoft Entra ID, Okta and Keycloak.

  • Webhooks

    A signed HTTPS request goes to your server when something changes on a board.

  • Audit log

    A record of what happened in your organization, with search and CSV export.

  • Web push notifications

    Notifications arrive as push messages in the browser.

  • Email Intakes and Reply by Email

    An email to an intake address becomes a task. A reply to a task notification email becomes a comment.

Core and Enterprise Edition compared

Run it on your own servers

Enterprise on-premises runs in your infrastructure. You decide where it runs and who can reach it.

What you need

  • A server with Docker Compose. The stack includes PostgreSQL.
  • An SMTP account. Sign-in uses email codes.
  • Disk space for files, or S3-compatible object storage. More than one host needs S3.
  • For Email Intakes and Reply by Email: a mailbox with IMAP access.
  • Your own operations: servers, configuration and backups are in your hands.

A license without a license server

  • The license is a contract between you and us.
  • No license server and no online license check.
  • Your instance does not need a connection to Kanroo.
  • Your data stays on your servers.

License and evaluation

Enterprise on-premises uses the commercial Kanroo Enterprise License 1.0. The Enterprise Edition is not open source. See Core and Enterprise Edition compared.

Businesses. The license is not offered to consumers.
Evaluation
Test it for 14 days at no cost, without real business use. Need more time? Ask us.
Servers
Your order states the number of production instances. Development, staging and test instances are not limited.
During the subscription
Updates, upgrades and support. Security updates are included.
After the subscription
Use ends with the subscription. Then you have 30 days to export your data and migrate.

Questions about Enterprise

What is the difference between Kanroo Cloud Enterprise and Enterprise on-premises?

Who runs the servers. Kanroo Cloud Enterprise is the service we run for you in the EU. With Enterprise on-premises, you run the Enterprise Edition on your own servers. Both have every feature and no member limit.

Is there a free trial?

For Enterprise on-premises, yes: a 14-day evaluation at no cost, without real business use. Kanroo Cloud has no trial. Start on the Free plan, with every feature, for one person.

Does Enterprise on-premises need a connection to Kanroo?

No. There is no license server and no online license check. Your instance runs without a connection to Kanroo, and your data stays on your servers.

Can we move between Kanroo Cloud and our own servers?

Board by board. Export a board as Kanroo JSON and import it on the other side. Comments, assignees, attachments, WIP limits and the done list do not come along. Wiki pages export as Markdown and import again. There is no tool that moves a whole organization at once.
