Fair Usage Policy

Kanroo Cloud does not limit the total storage of an organization or the number of uploads. Only the size of one attachment depends on the plan, see Plans and limits. In return, we ask you to use Kanroo for the work of your organization.

This page explains what fair usage means, what counts as abuse, what we do about it, and how you report content.

Storage

Store the files that belong to your tasks: documents, screenshots, designs, exports, and similar work files. There is no automatic quota. Kanroo does not slow down, block, or delete uploads because an organization stores a lot.

Kanroo is not a file host or a backup service. Keep large archives, backups, and media libraries in a service made for them.

What counts as abuse

  • Content that is illegal, for example material that infringes copyright or harms children.
  • Malware, phishing pages, or spam, also through public boards and forms.
  • Using Kanroo as a file host, backup service, or content delivery network, for example to share files with the public that have nothing to do with tasks.
  • Getting around the limits of a plan, for example with several accounts that each use a Free organization for the same group of people. Each account has one Free organization; additional organizations are paid.
  • Actions that put a heavy load on the service or harm other customers.

What we do

We review every case and act only on real abuse.

  • We can contact the organization owner and ask them to fix the problem.
  • If public content breaks the law or our terms, we can take the board offline. The board becomes private, and its forms are deactivated. Nothing is deleted: tasks, comments, attachments, and forms stay. Members see the change after they reload the page.
  • Remove the reported content before you make the board public or activate a form again. If the content comes back, we contact the owner and can take further steps under our terms.
  • In severe or repeated cases, we can restrict or suspend the account or the organization, or end the contract without notice for good cause, as sections 5.3, 5.5, and 9.3 of the Terms of Service describe.

When we take content offline or restrict an account, we tell the organization owner by email what we did and why. You can contest the decision by replying to that email.

When a paid plan ends

Each account has one Free organization. When an organization loses its paid plan and its owner already has a Free organization, it becomes read-only at once, and Kanroo takes its public boards, forms, and shares offline. This keeps public content from running on an organization that nobody pays for. Nothing is deleted, except audit log entries and page revisions beyond the Free limits, and you can still read your content and export your boards and pages. Choose a paid plan to make the organization writable again, then publish the content again yourself. Details are in Plans and limits.

Report content

Public board, task, and form pages and shared Wiki pages on Kanroo Cloud show a Report content link at the bottom. The link opens our report form with the label Abuse and the address of the page.

In your report, give the exact URL of the content, say why you report it, and give your name. The form confirms your email address when you sign in, so we can answer you. Confirm that your report is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. We check every report and answer you after we have acted. We do not share data about the organization or its members. Section 5.2 of the Terms of Service lists what a report contains.

You can also use the report form directly, for example about a page without the link, or write to abuse@kanroo.app.

A self-hosted Kanroo deployment shows no Report content link, and Kanroo has no access to it. Report such content to the operator of that deployment.
