Archive and restore tasks and boards

Archiving keeps a board tidy without deleting anything. An archived task leaves the board, but its content, comments, and history stay. You can restore it at any time. Deleting is final.
Archive a task
- Open the task and choose the ⋮ task actions (box 1), or press Shift+A.
- Choose Archive task (box 2) and confirm.
On the board, right-click a card for the same Archive task item. To archive every task of a list at once, use Archive all tasks in the list menu.
Find and restore archived tasks
- Open the board actions with the ⋮ button in the board header or Shift+A.
- Choose Archived tasks (box 1). A panel lists the archived tasks, newest first. Type at least three characters to search them.
- Select a task to open it. It shows an “archived” note and cannot be changed.
- In the task actions, choose Restore task. The task goes back to its list.
The search finds archived tasks too when you turn on Include archived.
Archive a whole board
Board managers see Archive board (box 2) in the board actions.
- The board moves to the Archived tab of the board overview. You can still open and read it.
- Its public page, forms, and email addresses pause while it is archived.
- To bring it back, open the board from the Archived tab and choose Restore board in the board actions. Everything works again as before, without new setup.
Tips
- Wiki pages and Spaces have their own Archive and Restore in their actions menus.
- Delete task and Delete board cannot be undone. Archive when you are not sure.
